Washing machines provide an ideal breeding ground for germs and mold. A lot of limescale and dirt accumulates in the washing machine over time.

The machine should be cleaned once a month using a high-temperature wash cycle. Foreign objects, hair and dirt also accumulate in the lint filter. You should therefore thoroughly clean them once or twice a year. But how often is enough? Check the manufacturer's recommendations for basic cleaning of the machine. The washing-up compartment or detergent drawer is on the cleaning schedule every few weeks.
