Patricia Tourancheau has worked as a crime journalist for almost 40 years. She is the author of some of the best true crime books of recent times.

Her most recent book is Kim et les papys (Kim and the robber), about the robbery of Kim Kardashian's grandparents in Paris in 2014. “I am very optimistic by nature and work has reinforced my joy of life. Despite all the tragedies, I'm always relative," she tells this newspaper in Lyon last week, during the Quais du Polar, the most important crime novel festival in Europe. The only thing I regret is not having been able to tell more stories, confesses the person who has told it best through a monumental book titled Le Grêlé, as he was known, says the 65-year-old journalist, author and director of films and documentary series. ‘Rigour, empathy with the victims and old-fashioned work, with triple confirmation of sources: that is what I taught my university students for years,’ he maintains.
