Pensions in an international comparison: Germany performs so poorly. Germany is below average in the bottom third of the OECD list.

The Dutch top the list with 89.2 percent. Poland comes last with 36.5 percent. Spain invests around 10.4 percent of its gross domestic product (GDP) in pensions. Italy only invests 9.8 percent of economic output in the pension system. Germany, on the other hand, only invests around 9.7 percent of GDP on the pension.
