The government will authorize the increased use of an insecticide by beet growers in 2024. The use of Movento can be done in addition to the spreading of another insecticide, Teppeki.

Neonicotinoids, insecticides implicated in bee mortality, have no longer been authorized since 2023. The government intends to avoid the importation of products that are not subject to the same environmental standards as French farmers. This announcement comes two months after the suspension of the Ecophyto pesticide reduction plan to respond to the agricultural crisis.
