The French actor will play the painter Maurice Utrillo in Johnny Depp's biopic of Modigliani. Filming is scheduled for this fall in Budapest, Hungary.
Italian star Riccardo Scamarcio, who recently played Caravaggio in a film by Michele Placido, Pierre Niney and Al Pacino, also a producer of the film, will play Maurice U Trillo and Maurice Gangnat. The film, which opens the Cannes Film Festival on May 16, will also allow Depp to climb the prestigious steps of the Croisette.
