The 2024 Easter holidays cost Italians, including food, travel and restaurants, around 1 billion euros more than last year. Food goods in fact underwent an increase of 3.2% on an annual basis, with peaks of 45.9% for olive oil, 13% for potatoes, 7.4% for fresh fruit.

Not to mention the huge price increases that have hit Easter eggs, with price lists rising by more than 20% compared to 2023. The heaviest Easter price increases concern the travel and tourism sector.
