Prevent colon cancer: Scientists discover how a protein in the body stops tumor cells. Both benign and malignant tumors can arise in the small intestine and large intestine.

Benign tumors in the colon are usually polyps or so-called adenomas. The danger is that polyps in the intestine can develop into malignant intestinal carcinoma over the years. Early detection and treatment is crucial for preventing not only colorectal cancer, but potentially other cancers as well, says Professor Si Ming Man.
