Mark Cavendish won the 21st and final stage of the Giro in a sprint. Primoz Roglic won his first Giro d'Italia.
President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella arrived in Via dei Fori Imperiali. Mattarella invited former President of Slovenia Borut Pahor, his personal friend, to Rome for Roglic. The Head of State also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, and the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri.
