A severely disabled person's pass can make life much easier for people with disabilities. It can be used to prove health impairments by recording the degree of disability, special marks and the validity of the ID card in the document.

The document is limited to a maximum of five years – regardless of the type of disability. Insured persons who have the pass can retire two years before the general standard retirement age. With deductions, it is also possible to retire even earlier – this also applies to people without severe disabilities.
