Two Civil Guard agents were killed and two injured, one of them seriously, in the ramming of a fast outboard belonging to drug traffickers. The soldiers were carrying out patrols in the port of Barbate (Cadiz), south-west of Spain.

The agents were engaged in an operation to identify the occupants of super-fast boats used by drug trafficking gangs. "It was a suicidal intervention, whoever gave the order must give explanations," denounced the representative of the Spanish Civil Guard Association.
