The Japanese automaker said it intends to produce new models with intermediate combinations in the state of Sao Paulo. Other automakers, including Volkswagen, General Motors and Hyundai Motor, have already announced large-scale investment plans in Brazil, including Hyundai Motor's investment of $1.5 billion in the South American country. The government gives preferential treatment to automakers that produce eco-friendly vehicles.
