The unions hope to make the date "a big day of strikes and demonstrations" to protest the government's pension reform. This is the fourteenth day of conflict since the beginning of the movement.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) asked airlines on Thursday to cancel a third of their flights at Paris-Orly, due to the strike. The SNCF has not yet published traffic forecasts for TGV, Ouigo, TER and Intercités, and Monday for Transilien and RER.
