The strong wind that from this morning is affecting Reggio Calabria, is causing damage in various areas of the city. The National Archaeological Museum, which houses the statues of the Riace Bronzes, was forced to close due to damage caused to the fence of the construction site in Piazza De Nava.

The museum will reopen to the public when security conditions allow it. The man was reportedly walking his dog when he was swept away by the tree. The orange alert is in place on almost the entire region.
