Suicides in prison, 5 million euros for prevention - last minute. Minister of Justice, Carlo Nordio.
"In order to prevent and combat the dramatic phenomenon of suicides within the prison population, I have signed a decree which provides for the assignment of 5 million euro to the prison administration for the current year for the strengthening... (ANSA), Nordio said. "The annual budget allocation for the purposes of preventing the suicide phenomenon and reducing the distress of inmates has more than doubled", he said.
