Surgery with a robot brings a new quality of life to Crohn's disease patients. The aim of the procedure was to remove tissue that had already been destroyed by inflammation.

With Moritz Schönherr, surgeons faced a special challenge. The scalpel was used in the area of the sphincter – in the so-called small pelvis. The surgery was carried out by a robot at the Munich Isar Clinic. The patient is now taking modern antibody medications that are supposed to reduce the inflammation.
