Swisscom buys Fastweb for 8 billion - Breaking news. Swisscom has entered into binding agreements with the Vodafone group.
The combination of complementary high-quality mobile and fixed infrastructures, as well as the skills and assets of Fastweb and Vodaphone Italia, will create a leading convergent operator in Italy. The deal is worth 8 billion euros, Swisscom said in a note to its shareholders on Monday. The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
