Italian-Argentine number 76 in the world was eliminated 6-4 7-5 by the 23-year-old Argentine number 30 in the ranking. Darder had eliminated Baez just five days ago in the semifinal of the ATP 250 in Cordoba, also in Argentina. The Italian then won the tournament - his first ATP title in his career - beating Facundo Bagnis.
