Lufthansa has revealed how much money it saves by not serving its passengers free meals and drinks on short- and medium-haul flights. On domestic European flights, passengers are served a small bottle of water and a piece of chocolate.

For the company, this is a savings of €0.47 (NIS 1.88) per passenger. Last year, the company earned 4.9 million euros from food sold on its aircraft. The price of coffee or tea on the airline's planes is 3 euros and soft drinks and beer cost 3.5 euros.
