At least 14 people were injured when an escalator at a busy subway station in South Korea abruptly changed direction, knocking people to the ground. Security video captured the moment steps at the bustling Sunae station in Bundang, south of Seoul's capital in Gyeonggi province, became a threat.

Police and fire officials said three people were hospitalized with serious injuries to their backs and legs. The faulty escalator was later closed, and the fire department said it planned to investigate the cause of the accident.
