The fire that started on January 25 in the National Park spread within provincial jurisdiction, destroying more than 3,000 hectares of native forest. The fire advanced this Sunday and was near the city of Esquel.

Residents of the upper part of the Percy River were evacuated preventively. The intensity of the wind complicated the work of the brigade members and the fire is advancing in an uncontrolled manner. "The fire passes lines jumping up to the width of a street without any difficulty," said the Park's mayor.
