One million Israelis suffer from migraines of varying degrees of severity. More than half of them are sensitive to weather changes.

Exposure to strong sun, extremely hot or cold weather, high humidity or dry air, and dust particles can lead to an intensification of migraine attacks. A new generation of oral medications are effective in preventing and reducing the frequency of attacks, says Dr. Daniel Oved, chairman of the Israel Headache Society of Neurological Association of Israel. The new drugs can be given to everyone, even people with comorbidities including heart disease.
