Filmmaker Julio Hernández Cordón admits that he had toxic relationships, but emphasizes that the complaints never reached the courts. Four women made public their stories of physical and emotional violence on the website of Las Landetas, an anonymous collective of professionals in the Mexican film industry.

The victims' testimonies describe attacks and psychological abuse, in addition to transmitting a sexually transmitted disease to one of them knowing that she had it. “The strongest thing that happened was the spread of the disease. It is sexual violence. I should have communicated it ahead of time, I screwed up. I am aware that we live in a patriarchy, that I have had sexist and toxic attitudes,” says the filmmaker.
