In the years 2008-2009, there was a significant decrease in the amount of plants of the impressive flower in Mount Barkan and its surroundings. The combination of the few rains and the route of the land - from a rock that does not store much water, apparently led to the collapse of the local population.

After several years in which we were blessed with particularly rainy winters, we are witnessing the recovery of the population and we can point to a gradual increase in the number of plants and flowers of the Gilboa Iris.
