The University of Cordoba manages to analyze for the first time a Roman perfume and determine its fragrance and chemical composition. Carmona (Seville) was, between the first and second centuries AD, one of the main municipalities of the Roman province of Baetica.

In 2019, a mausoleum was found with six occupied niches, three for men and three for women. Inside them were found numerous funerary offerings, including a delicate ointment carved from quartz crystal with a solid mass inside.
