After several weeks without a drop of rain in Paris, bad weather returned Sunday night in the capital. Violent thunderstorms caused flooding in some streets of Paris as well as in the inner suburbs.

Paris firefighters carried out 140 interventions in the evening, mainly in Seine-Saint-Denis. The Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP), which wants to be reassuring about the situation, asked via its Twitter account not to clutter "unnecessarily" the emergency lines. Île-de-France is placed on yellow alert for thunderstorms for Monday.
