Tina Turner passed away on Wednesday at the age of 83 at her home in Switzerland. Her representatives confirmed that she died of natural causes after a long battle with colon cancer.

The singer was diagnosed in 1978 with high blood pressure and in 2016 she began the fight against cancer. At the same time, her kidneys failed and she underwent a kidney transplant in 2017, donated to her by her husbandErwin Bach. In her 2021 documentary, she revealed that she experienced post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of her tumultuous marriage to Ike Turner.
