Today is click day for the arrival in Italy of 89,050 non-EU seasonal workers. Foreign workers have become an important component for the Italian agri-food supply chain.

Almost 1/3 of Made in Italy at the table is produced in the fields and stables by migrants who have regularly found employment in agriculture. Indians, followed by Moroccans, precede Albanians, Senegalese, Pakistanis, Tunisians, Nigerians and Macedonians. It is mainly seasonal work with peaks in demand.
