[HIGHLIGHTS] Tragedy in Cipolletti: a young man jumped into an irrigation canal to save his friend and was dragged to death by the current

Osvaldo Franco Ariel Benítez (19) was from Buenos Aires, but he was in Río Negro for work. On Friday, on a day of oppressive heat that reached 35 degrees, he jumped into the water to rescue his friend from him.

But the current carried him away. Since then he was missing. This Saturday they found his body in a canal in Cipolletti, near the city of Rio Negro. The area where they jumped in the water has a waterfall and a depth of 8 meters.
