A bus and a truck carrying a load of fruit collided in the province of Mendoza. As a result, three people died and at least 17 were injured.

The crash took place 20 kilometers from the town of Carmensa, in the department of General Alvear. The bus - which carried 19 passengers - ended up overturned on the side of the road. The road was filled with crates and pears and apples, part of the semi-trailer's cargo. In addition, a one-year-old baby suffered head trauma, but is now out of danger, reported the newspaper El Sol. The truck driver was apprehended, and authorities are investigating the causes of the crash. "We do not know if the bus hit the truck or the trailer," police authorities said, adding that a version spread by a witness indicated that a truck crossed the road and the truck had to make an extreme maneuver to avoid the collision. The 17 injured were taken to the Argentine Nurses Hospital. Three of them were in "serious condition"
