Ajvar is a seasoning paste made from paprika and eggplant, often used in the Balkan region. Avjar is also popular in Turkish cuisine and adds the finishing touch to Turkish pizza with minced Meat and spicy puff pastry pockets. It goes well with a mixed salad and the ajvar yoghurt dip. For a vegetarian option, the ground beef can be replaced with vegan ground beef alternatives or with a large portion of spinach.
