"Pierrot le fou" is a love story perhaps, a detective story not really, a trip in a Peugeot 404 in France in the 1960s surely. In 1965, Godard was already doing Godard: fragments, discontinuity, colored filters which immerse the film in a pictorial atmosphere of the time, between pop art and new realism.

It's often beautiful, dazzling at times, also annoying when Godard forgets that the best puns are the shortest.
