Twenty years ago Pantani died, according to the Prosecutor's Office it was not murder. Pantani was found dead on 14 February 2004 in a room in the 'Le Rose' residence in Rimini.
The investigation by the prosecutor Elisabetta Melotti and the deputy Luca Bertuzzi has not yet been formally sent to the investigating judge's office as a request for dismissal. No new elements have emerged, but no new information has emerged, the prosecutor's office says. The request to dismiss the third investigation into the disappearance of the cycling champion will probably come next week.
