Nearly 25 million people need assistance. Army and paramilitaries accuse each other of having broken the truce negotiated by the US and Saudi Arabia.

Hundreds lost their lives and more than 5,000 were injured in the clashes. Since the clashes began in mid-April, some 1.3 million people have been displaced inside and outside the country. The UN envoy for the Horn of Africa, Hanna Tetteh, expressed concern about the continuation of the fighting despite the truce: "This is unacceptable and must end"
