United Kingdom: government to ban disposable electronic cigarettes. The number of puff consumers in the UK has increased nine-fold in two years, according to official figures.

The government “wants to help children avoid being catastrophically lured into nicotine addiction, to which vaping is often a gateway,” Health Minister Victoria Atkins told the BBC. The ban is part of a broader plan to combat smoking announced last fall by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, quoted in a press release by the government.
