The food discounter Lidl has recalled two specific batches of dried herbs. Those affected can hand in the purchased products in any store.

A possible contamination of the product with salmonella was found during an internal inspection. Salmonella could be "a trigger for gastrointestinal diseases (salmonellosis)". This could lead to serious courses of the disease "in certain groups of people". These include infants, toddlers, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems. The purchase price will also be refunded without presentation of the receipt.
