US consumer confidence is at its highest since December 2021. Job openings in the United States surprisingly rose to a three-month high in December, signaling the strength of the labor market.

Vacancies rose to 9.026 million from 8.9 million in November. The Conference Board measured consumer confidence at 114.8 in January, in line with analysts' expectations and to the highest level since December 2020. The U.S. unemployment rate is at a five-year low of 3.7 percent.
