Verdi's Masked Ball triumphs at the Liceu in Barcelona. This superb production, given in Parma in 2020, continues its journey to Barcelona.
The exceptional cast is rightly acclaimed by the Catalan public. The only downside to this production is that the lighting is sometimes a bit crude and does not suggest mystery or drama. The two casts, which are excellent, were acclaimed by an enthusiastic audience. The LiceU orchestra under the direction of Riccardo Frizza knows how to reveal all the nuances of this work.
