Tom Hanks was the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony of the prestigious Harvard University. The actor called on Harvard's class of 2023 to stand up for the truth in a highly publicized speech.

Hanks scoffed at the fact that he received the degree "without having worked in the slightest," except by playing a Harvard professor in the "Da Vinci Code" movies. As had previously done Oprah Winfrey and Natalie Portman at Harvard in 2013 and 2015, Hanks also received an honorary doctorate of arts.
