The fire broke out on board the ship, the Hurricane, while it was 25 km from the Red Sea resort of Marsa Alam. An electrical malfunction in the engine room caused the fire, authorities said.
Fifteen British passengers, ten crew members and two tour guides were rescued. The search continues for the three missing tourists, according to a statement from Red Sea governorate. It was after a six-day cruise, which was due to end on Sunday, that the blaze broke out.
