The 45-year-old farmer who died in Contrada (Avellino) was going to the mountains when he was surprised by the water bomb. The man was in a rather inaccessible area when, in an attempt to anchor the car to the ground, he went down in search of a support to put under the wheels.
At that point he would have been run over by the car due to the failure of the handbrake. It was only twenty minutes of rain preceded by a strong hailstorm but of exceptional power.
