Every year, around 60,000 new cases occur. There are currently around 520,700 people living with a diagnosis of Colon cancer in Germany, according to the Bavarian Cancer Society. The earlier colon cancer is detected, the better the chances of recovery, says Dr. Berndt Birkner, gastroenterologist.
