Scouring milk can damage and scratch the surface, even if cleaned carefully. Heat-sensitive dishwashing detergents can burn in and cause irreparable discoloration. Be particularly careful with sugar, aluminum and plastic. Some leftover food, plastic and aluminum foil can burn into glass ceramics - this is particularly serious with sugary foods.
