Bladder cancer is the fourth most common in Israel among men and the eighth among women. Every year, around 1,500 people are diagnosed in Israel, most of them in their 60s and 70s.

Smoking and passive smoking rank high among the causes of bladder cancer. "Awareness is partial, unfortunately," says Dr. David Sarid, Director of the Urinary Tract Tumors Service at the Ichilov Medical Center. "We raise awareness through many channels and proactive actions," he adds.
