Born in Indochina in 1942, she is the eldest of five siblings. She was forced to leave her family at the beginning of the conflict of independence.
She recalls her mother telling her: "Today it's going to be very complicated, your dad may be more there" "I was so afraid that they would kill me," she says of her parents. "They will never kill me", she adds. "I'm so happy to be here" she says. "It's so good to have you back"
