Yannick Morez, the mayor of Saint-Brévin-les-Pins, announced his resignation in a pithy statement Wednesday night. "I made this decision for personal reasons, including the arson attack on my home and the lack of state support, and after much reflection with my family," he said.
On March 22, his two vehicles and part of the gable of his house went up in smoke. "The consequences could have been even more dramatic," Morez said at the time.
