[HIGHLIGHTS] "They will pay a high price": Iran demands revenge for the attack on its consulate in Syria and the United States affirms that it "had nothing to do with it"

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi spoke with the Iraqi Prime Minister on Wednesday night. Raisi assured her that Israel would pay a “heavy price” for the airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

"They will receive a slap in the face for this action," said Iranian spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The U.S. remains Israel's indispensable ally and tireless arms supplier, responsible for about 70% of Israeli weapons imports and about 15% of Israel's defense budget.
