Energy supplier "17er Oberlandenergie" is planning to set up a subsidiary for this purpose. 42 municipalities in the Oberland that are shareholders of the regional supplier can purchase green electricity and gas directly from “17er’s” “Kommunal-Partner GmbH” buys the electricity directly on the exchange and distributes it to the member municipalities.

There is no middleman. The new company is scheduled to launch at the beginning of next year. The idea has already been warmly received by some municipalities, reported Thomas Feistl and Bernried's mayor Georg Malterer. In Seehausen and Spatzenhausen, the local council has also already approved the establishment. The city of Starnberg, a potential major buyer, recently joined ‘17er's’ shareholder as a shareholder. The energy supplier was created from the merger of the Murnau municipal utilities and the Bad Tölz, Geretsried, Penzberg and Wolfratshausen municipal utilities.
