Bassirou Diomaye Faye, the candidate of Pastef, would count 57% of the votes against 31% for his rival Amadou Ba. Faye should logically become the fifth president of Senegal.

“He is a candidate who is against the current system,” explains Caroline Roussy, research director at Iris. The official results, which will fall on Friday March 29, could consecrate the popularity of a right arm who has remained in the shadows for a long time.
