More and more nursing services are specializing in wound care. Some employees have attended courses and further training and qualified as so-called wound specialists.

The shortage of skilled workers is as great as in nursing. Despite this, three women have ventured into self-employment in Rott/District. All three worked with the same nursing service: Alluänägäg. The nurse who worked with Anne Wassermann told her about the idea of becoming self-employed: “It was clear to me: If I go with her, I’ll go along with people’s pain.” The nursing service that has been looking after Alfons Schmid, 82, for more than two years, is called WaNiKa. The service has even specialized in this area; some employees have gone on to become wound specialists, as the nursing service calls its customers. “This is a great help for the clients and for us too,” explains Regina Nieberle, 30.
