The Le champ du pain inn has just opened its doors in Saint-Genis-sur-Menthon, in Ain. A first in thirty years for this village of 484 inhabitants which had no business since the early 1990s.

After several years of work, nearly 700,000 euros invested, 80% of which was financed by all levels of local authorities, the business, called Auberge Le Champ du pain, opened on Saturday. Next step is the restoration of a 15th century building of Bressian architecture, located behind this new business, to make it a meeting place and an exhibition room. “It unlocked everything,”  assures Christophe Gracteur, the mayor of the village of Saint- Genis-Sur-M tenthon, of the opening of the new business. The village is located in the north of the Ain department not far from Mâcon (Saône-et-Loire), in the region of Ain.
